Mood: 2-21-17
In this story the author has an intense vibe that gets passed on to the reader. Like when Huck and Abbott are going at it in the poker tournament against each other and it describes in such great detail on how Huck's emotions during this tournament is. Or when Stani pulls the gun on the poker players in the elevator a bit earlier on in the novel. The story just sends off multiple emotions throughout the story but these few chapters that I just completed reading really sent off an intense feeling or vibe. It really made the novel more enjoyable.

This story, "The hand you're dealt" by Paul Volponi, brings multiple emotions into mind when reading it. Like, for one, an intense feeling when Huck is playing Abbott in poker. And also it makes you feel this feeling where you feel sorry, like a feeling of pity, when Huck describes his feelings towards Abbott and how his father passed away. The story also makes me feel anger at times when Huck describes how Abbott stole his father's watch when he had been in such harsh conditions in a hospital bed.

Blog post 2.07.17
I am currently in the middle of chapter six in my novel, "The Hand You're Dealt" by Paul Volponi. Some new characters that have recently been introduced in this book is Rooster, And Audra. Rooster was mentioned in the prologue of the story but they didn't really discuss who he was until about chapter four or five. Rooster I don't believe plays a very big part in this story but he is a character that is mentioned frequently. He is the mechanic of Caldwell and is described as "cut up" with tattoos. Audra is the girl Huck likes, and she is also frequently mentioned. On another note, the book goes back a couple of months in Huck's life to a parent teacher conference they had, and it describes the scene of when Huck's mom went into Mr. Abbott's class and started screaming at him and sarcastically asking him to check the time on his watch because he stole Huck's father's watch when Huck's father was unconscious in a hospital bed.

Foreshadowing
I am in the middle of chapter three in my book, "The Hand You're Dealt" by Paul Volponi, and what has previously happen in this chapter is Huck got to join the poker tournament, against his mom's will, by speaking with Father Dineros to get him a spot in the poker tournament. He saves up money from working at White Castle and uses that money to play in the poker tournament, to avenge his father's watch. What I think will happen later on in this chapter is Huck is going to make it to the "championship" finals and will go up against Abbott for the watch, but since it is still early on in the book I think that there might be some kind of issue that will occur to keep Huck from getting the watch. Like maybe Abbott will run off with the watch or Huck will lose to Abbott.
